As you all know, Jocelyne bid a sad and sudden farewell to Bordeaux on July 11th - his "Rainbow Bridge Tribute" is simple but evocative. As all of us who have "walked the path" know only too well, the grief is immense, but just as our beloved companions live on in our hearts and memories, so do they live on in our everyday lives. What we shared together and the lessons learned have a continuing impact. There is no doubt in my mind that Bordeaux was the driving force that led me to come home from the Stowe weekend with a 10 1/2 week old male puppy from Jenny's Danny and Sheryl Shaker's Sky.
He is totally unlike Bordeaux in appearance and behaviour, but just like Bordeaux, he is all Border Terrier - epitomizing the unique qualities of the breed.

Flash back to June - the Dachshund Club of New Jersey Earthdog Tests where Boomerang earned her JE. Our all too short visit to Barb and Midge and our return via New Jersey and a great morning in the field for Boomerang thanks to Gelsey, Cadet, Ratchet and of course, JoAnn.

The weekend before Stowe, Jenny, Danny, Max and Daisy came up for a Den Trial practice. In the evening we took Danny, Nipper and Gunter for a walk across the golf course and stopped to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sunset.

The weekend after Stowe, Jacqueline, Marnie and I headed to the Finger Lakes Earthdog Tests in Up-State New York - not far from Marg Pough's. There we met up with Jenny, Amanda, JoAnn and a bunch of other familiar faces. Jacqueline's Tristan earned the first leg on his Senior Earthdog title and all in all, we had a fun time.

On the way home we picked up Henry who was to stay with us while Sarah moved from her condominium to a house with a back yard for Henry. While she was with us, Jocelyne and I took the liberty of pulling her hair out.
